Young Min Kim, MLIS

Young Min is the Simbonis Librarian for the Health Sciences at the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library.
He provides research support, citation management, and instruction to students, faculty, and clinicians at Yale’s health sciences schools and Yale New Haven Hospital. Young Min provides classes on biomedical databases, scholarly publishing, and research impact while developing online research tools.
He engages in initiatives promoting open access and innovative publishing models, and actively contributes to library planning and professional organizations.
He received his MLIS in Library & Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
In 2025, he completed the Specialization in Consumer Health Information from the Medical Library Association, demonstrating his commitment to advancing health literacy and empowering patients and caregivers with reliable, accessible health information.
