Sofia provides end-user bioinformatics support to basic and biomedical science researchers, develops and conducts training programs and workshops on bioinformatics resources and databases, and provides bioinformatics consulting services.
 
Sofia developed her PhD thesis and postodoctoral research in neurosciences, at Yale. Her work focused on neural cell-types development going from the gene to the system and from the system to the gene. She uses her lab experience and knowledge in the use of NGS (next generation sequencing) analysis tools to help other researchers take full advantage of the bioinformatic resources made available by the Yale medical library.
