The Prints and Drawings collection shows how artists have portrayed issues and events related to health and medicine over six centuries. It is one of the best known collections of its kind.

The extensive collection of Clements Collard Fry, bequeathed in 1955, forms the core of these collected works. To it are added works from the collections of the library’s founders Harvey Cushing, John F. Fulton and Arnold C. Klebs and from the collections of Edward Clarke Streeter, Gertrude van Wagenen, and William Helfand. Today, the collection continues to grow through gifts and purchase from endowments.
