YaleLinks is an online full text direct linking service provided by the Yale University Library. This tutorial demonstrates how to use the YaleLinks services to quickly obtain online article full text.

Accessing & Requesting Articles via YaleLinks

The YaleLinks button connects you to full text and also provides the quickest way to request an item we don't have.

Clicking 'YaleLinks' will bring you to a page where you can access the full text or request a copy. If Yale owns the item, you'll see "Full Text Online". If Yale doesn't own the item, skip to this section.

You may be prompted to authenticate with your NetID or EPIC credentials.

Once authenticated, you'll gain access to the article via the publisher's website where you can then read or download a PDF.

If Yale doesn't own the item, you can request a copy by clicking the button and logging into the Yale Library's document delivery system:

After you log in, you will see a completed form with the article's details. Just click the "Submit Request" button.

When the item is available, an email message will be sent to you. You can then follow the directions in the email message to retrieve the article you requested.

  • If you are accessing databases from off-campus, make sure to review the library’s Off-Campus Access page.
  • In order to see the YaleLinks button, make sure you are accessing PubMed via this link: PubMed@Yale
